Valley Soccer Club football club visited Blacon on the 17th August 2008. The match was almost abandoned before it started due to the Valley team coach being hit by a possible drink driver. However a replacement driver  for the coach was found and they managed to get to Chester.

A friendly competitive game was played which was enjoyed by all who took part.
